Letter: PPEL funds are essential to district facilities

Image
The Dubuque community has supported the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) every 10 years since the 1990s. Voters will have the opportunity to vote on this important funding source on Tuesday, Sept. 8. PPEL funds are essential to maintaining and improving district facilities. Over the years, these dollars have helped replace roofs, maintain parking lots and sidewalks, enhance building security, purchase school buses, support HVAC systems, and provide technology for students and staff. Information about PPEL-funded projects is available at dbqschools.org. Schools are also highlighting improvements through building displays and social media.
