Letter to the Editor: Sheriff backs Brenna Bird for attorney general

As sheriff, I know public safety isn't political. The decisions we make affect victims, families, and our entire local communities. That's why I plan to support Attorney General Brenna Bird in this November's election. Brenna has actually prosecuted criminals. She understands the challenges and what law enforcement deals with because she's done the work herself. She knows how important it is to stand with victims, support prosecutors, and hold dangerous criminals accountable. Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird talks about being involved with other state attorneys general in the recent landmark Meta settlement and dives into other cases she says she's fought for everyday Iowans. She also shows up. When local law enforcement needs help, Brenna listens and works with us. Liberal attorney Nate Willems is asking Iowans to make him the state's top law enforcement officer, but his background is light on experience in key areas. Iowa doesn't need or want a soft-on-crime liberal holding the most important law enforcement position in the state. Attorney General is a job where Iowa should take zero chances. Brenna Bird is an experienced, pro-law enforcement, and tough-on-crime prosecutor.
