Editorials and other Opinion content offer perspectives on issues important to our community and are independent from the work of our newsroom reporters. Sun Herald readers weigh in on local and national topics. He's a despicable person and more likely than not to leave LSU high and dry after a few years, but the man sure can coach. You have to give him that. Thanks, Ole Miss, for not locking up Lane Kiffin when you had the chance. Congratulations, LSU. Maybe hold off on the national title plans until after Week 3. We'll see how you're feeling then. Volunteers should be paid for their work. It may not be a lot, but it would be something. This is a capitalist society. Everyone who works should be paid. Congress is going into recession early. I guess all the work they've done doing nothing is exhausting. The United Nations recently voted 164–1 for a nonbinding resolution encouraging the use of world maps that more accurately depict the relative size of countries and continents. The United States cast the lone dissenting vote. Why in the world — pun intended — would we oppose a more accurate map? Perhaps President Trump prefers one of his own design: 'It would be the most beautiful map ever.' Greenland becomes Trumpland, Venezuela becomes Trumpzuela and Cuba becomes Trumpa. If he can't own them, perhaps he can at least rename them. Thank God one clear thinking & logical man said 'guilty' in the Clancy jury trial. Women are way to emotional to be jurors or lead in any way. Repeal the 19th Amendment. Send your Sound Offs to soundoff@sunherald.com.
