Opinion: The Edicts of the PLU

'We do not intend to become a political party. The PLU is becoming a monster that they cannot control, that's because the PLU Chairman, the Commander of Defence Forces (CDF) and Senior Presidential Advisor, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba is acting as a political figure himself. Muhoozi and everyone around him is politically active and addressing political questions. They aren't even trying. While the PLU trying to be a 'pressure group' or a 'civic organization'. Well, it is endorsing their future Presidential Candidate and trying to get 20 million signatures for him. That's for the final nail in the coffin of the 'Project Muhoozi' and whatever Tinyefuza warned about over a decade ago. So please, try better. We know that Muhoozi himself calls his orders the 'edicts of the PLU'. He did say so and later deleted it, as he doesn't want it recorded for long. However, he published it and we won't forget it. As he wrote it and published it on social media. Just like he suddenly ordered the Police Officers to change their way. That's what he does. Just like the PLU plays to be a 'civic organization'. Under 24 hours later, the same organization does this for everyone to see. 'The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) has launched a mass signature collection drive in support of General Muhoozi Kainerugaba's presidential bid, with hundreds of supporters turning up at the movement's Kampala offices to endorse his candidature. The Minister for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs, Minsa Kabanda, received the registration books to kick-start the exercise in the capital, with thousands of signatures expected to be collected and presented to General Muhoozi at a ceremony scheduled for December 20, 2026, at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds' (NTV Uganda, 07.09.2026). Does that sound like a civic organization to you? No, seriously, how foolish does they think the whole population are? The PLU and their handlers need to get a grip. The PLU wants to use the NRM as a vehicle for its own success and later recalibrate it. They want to be a chameleon inside it, be NRM and the same time change to PLU. These people can act like it is clever, but everyone see the game-plan. The involves politicians and high ranking officials at every step of the way. They needed the Deputy Speaker and others to participate in launching a website today. That's what they do and think it is wise too. So, please stop the charade and just drop the bag. This foolishness got to stop. There is nothing to gain here. We can all see it and it isn't brilliant. Peace.
