YOU SAID IT: We support your policies? Think again

WE SUPPORT YOUR POLICIES? THINK AGAIN Mark Carney thinks that because the Liberals won the three recent byelections that Canadians support his policies. Wrong! Two of those ridings were already Ontario Liberal strongholds that even a monkey running for the Liberals would have won. As for the Quebec riding, the candidate is intricately involved with the supply management dairy cartel. Everyone knows Quebec holds the rest of the country hostage protecting their sacred cow, even to the detriment of any other part of Canada. GISELE LAVICTOIRE ORLÉANS LITTLE GETS DONE, NO ONE GETS BLAMED I hate to beat a dead horse, but I am going to anyway. As much as the federal public service is bloated like that dead horse I just referenced, it is the fact that they have created so many insignificant positions to justify the body count. Don't get me wrong, many put in a full day, but it is filled with the micromanaging of the tiniest of decisions. There is literally nothing that can't be discussed ad nauseum with no one ever making a decision. They defer and consult to ensure nobody could ever be blamed for a poor decision and face actual consequences. You only have to look at the Phoenix payroll fiasco that cost taxpayers over $5 billion and realize that, to the best of my knowledge, not a single person lost their job. Our entire country operates in this manner. Is it any wonder major projects take decades waiting for approvals? WAYNE BOYCE CARLETON PLACE Your letters are welcome, at: OttSun.Oped@sunmedia.ca.
