Michael Carrick will be bitterly disappointed at two dropped points at Everton, but he's certainly getting one blast from the past by Marcus Rashford. The resurgence of Marcus Rashford 2.0 continued at Man Utd, with the forward flying and terrorising Everton in the 2-2 draw. David Moyes' side were on the back foot as long as he was on the pitch, and it's not a coincidence that the late leveller came from their right-back. He is fairly two-footed, but he is at his most dangerous when he is able to create overloads on his side. Due to his threat in 1v1s, Rashford often attracts two defenders to himself, leaving plenty of space beyond him. Rashford and Shaw hadn't played together for almost three years before this season, either due to the latter's injuries or Rashford's future. It is amazing to see the duo pick up from where they left off under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, or even Erik ten Hag, to a certain extent. They unlock each other, and this is a partnership Carrick is clearly very keen on investing in. Rashford and Shaw have an advantage in that regard since they don't have to build anything from scratch, and they are making it count. As they continue to play with each other, they will also start realising the changes to each other's games since they last were a duo on the left wing. The only worry is an injury to either, especially Shaw, because as it stands, anybody is a huge downgrade on either of those players.
