LEWIS: Reunions in the good old days

Image
It gives me such joy to share stories about the good old days with my children and grandchildren. You know memories of drinking a sip of water from your Papa's giant silver ladle to showing them the brown bread bowl where your Maw Maw made a whole lot of biscuits with a whole lot of love. At other times, I'd tell the kids about my parents and grandparents and how they'd promise me a good time if I would hop in the car and head to see some folks I didn't know all that well. My parents explained they were my cousins from both near and far, but when you get a bunch of kids together everyone seems to have fun. It was before tablets and cell phones; it was before video games and a bunch of television shows. Yes. I'm talking about an old fashioned reunion when people dedicate a time to get together and enjoy family. The kids would play dodge ball, tag, red rover, and put our feet in the creek.
