Connor University Center Aug. 25. Dear Warhawks, Welcome to the start of a new academic year! Whether you find yourself on our Whitewater or Rock County campuses for the very first time or are returning to finish your degree, there is a palpable sense of energy and momentum across the university right now. As Provost, my primary focus is ensuring you have every tool, support system, and opportunity needed to thrive along your academic journey. At the start of the semester, Chancellor King offered four straightforward strategies to make this your best year yet. I'd like to echo that advice: Go to class. Learning happens through connection. Our faculty are deeply dedicated to your success and work hard to make your classes engaging, accessible, and relevant. Show up for class, ask questions, and stop by office hours — your professors are eager to help you succeed. Connect with your academic advisor early. Staying on track academically requires a clear plan. Meet with your advisor regularly to navigate your degree path, explore new programs, and ensure every semester moves you efficiently toward graduation. Get involved outside the classroom. A full university experience extends well beyond coursework. Join a student organization, cheer on our athletic teams, or attend campus events and entertainment. Building a strong community enriches your college journey and opens unexpected doors. Prioritize your well-being. Your mental and physical health form the foundation of your success. Take advantage of our campus health, counseling, fitness, and wellness resources whenever you need support or a spot to recharge. We are committed to learning together with you and celebrating your achievements along the way. Work hard, look out for one another, and take pride in being part of this university.
