Double Take -- Sisco: Republican candidates still leaning on scare tactics

Image
As the November mid-term elections draw near, Republicans are relying on scare tactics to reel in voters — and spending millions doing it. Listening to Ashley Hinson, who's running for the U.S. Senate, and U.S. House candidate Joe Mitchell, one would think Democrats hold the keys to the Gulag. These candidates have nothing to offer regular Americans, so they rely on name-calling to win votes, a strategy that has worked for Republicans too often in the past. When you hear Hinson and Mitchell call Democrats 'socialists,' think about what the word actually means — Social Security, a strong public education system, affordable healthcare, national parks, consumer protections and fair wages.
