Servis Shoes manage arrested in Faisalabad for selling substandard footwear

FAISALABAD – The manager of a branch of a well-known shoe company, Servis Shoes was arrested in Faisalabad for allegedly selling defective and substandard footwear. A social media user has shared the development on X, claiming that he was arrested following an order issued by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Fawad Arif. The branch manager of the company's Salemi Chowk, Chen One Road outlet was arrested by court bailiff Muhammad Haseeb on the application of a citizen, Muhammad Shabbir Sarwar, also known as Buggi. One user argued that the company itself should face the case, saying the manager would only sell the products provided to the outlet. Another user called for investigations into stores selling substandard products, arguing that poor-quality footwear could affect consumers' health and cause physical discomfort. A further commenter questioned the legal basis of the action, asking whether an additional sessions judge has consumer-court powers and suggesting that, if not, questions could arise over the proceedings. The company is yet to issue a response in this regard.
