Cowherd posted a video on his The Volume social media accounts raving about Mensah and even putting him ahead of quarterbacks such as CJ Carr, Dante Moore, and Arch Manning. Mensah's about as good a college quarterback as you're gonna get. By the way, here's what I love. Now he's at Miami, now there's gonna be some pressure. He's playing with much better players. I like the journey, and man, he can spin it.' Mensa was red hot on Friday evening versus Stanford. He threw for 401 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions on 27 of 30 passes for 90% completion. His performance drew a lot of attention to his level of play, which Cowherd contends has been high level for years. He started his career at Tulane, where he finished the 2024 season throwing for 2,723 yards and 22 touchdowns with only 6 interceptions. He then transferred to Duke to play under Manny Diaz, where he increased his output, throwing for 3,973 yards and 34 touchdowns with only 6 interceptions. Now he's transferred to the national championship runner-up in hopes of increasing their chances of returning to the big dance this season.
