Letter to the Editor: For the record and for the children

FOR THE CHILDREN For the children, and for you and me, Yes, for the children, and their prosperity. For the children, their smiles warm our hearts, Protect the children, nature and all her parts. So, give the children, a chance to live their dreams, Not breathe pollution, that makes their life a scream. They turn to us, with trust in their big eyes. They lose their wonder; it makes me want to cry. For the children, and their learning, can't you see, Their future education, matters to you and me. As low-frequency noise, is knocking at their door, At three local schools, will this ruin their vital scores? They need resilience, and confidence you see, To face the future, without much certainty. They're only children, but our future for sure. Please vote no to rezoning, it can be the only cure. Don't condemn our zip code, to this future monstrosity. Listen to the people, this is a democracy. For the children, Walnut Cove is their home. Don't condemn us to be, another Sacrifice Zone. Soon they will ask us, what's all this really for? Why rush into this? Why not study a little more?
