Apparently, going outside and soaking up the sun also has enormous health benefits for adults, including lower blood pressure, better metabolism, greater longevity, less risk of dementia and even an intensified sex drive. In the telling of Rowan Jacobsen's 'In Defense of Sunlight: The Surprising Science of Sun Exposure,' released this summer, modern society is starved of sunshine, which is contributing to a rise in chronic disease and mental illness.
