Justin Jefferson Will Torch the Green Bay Packers in Week 1

If anyone was hurt the most in 2026 by sub-professional-level QB play, it was Justin Jefferson himself. Even through shaky QB play in years before, Justin Jefferson was still given opportunities to make an impact on games. Even with QBs like Nick Mullens and Carson Wentz, Jefferson still got plenty of individual production, which oftentimes leads to points on the scoreboard. With Max Brosmer and J.J. McCarthy on the field, Jefferson was turned into an afterthought. Not only is that disappointing, but it's also downright embarrassing and unacceptable given the standard that he's set in his career so far. If nothing else, 2025 has set a floor that Justin Jefferson can never sink to again if the Vikings wish to keep him for his entire career. It's also a great introduction to why Justin Jefferson will dominate next Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. Over that sample size, he's racked up 60 catches for 863 yards and 5 touchdowns. For any other receiver, that sounds fine, but Justin Jefferson has a different standard. In those 11 games, 4 of them saw Jefferson go under 50 yards, and 3 of them saw him go under 30. In fairness, he wasn't a starter in his very first game against the Packers. On the other side of the coin, Jefferson has put up over 100 yards on the Pack three times, including a 169-yard performance and a 184-yard performance. It's not like he can't torch the ugly green team; it just doesn't seem to happen all that often. Week 1 against the Packers will be different; Jefferson is coming off what was easily the worst season of his career by individual production, and there's going to be some hell to pay. Jefferson will be coming out with some hate in his heart, sure not to allow another disappointing year to take place. There's no better team to let out some pent-up frustration against than the one from across the border. Anytime that Justin Jefferson has had a QB that can complete a pass, he's pretty much been agreed to be the best receiver in the NFL by consensus. Jefferson knows that some people have forgotten just how good he is at his job, and he's been chomping at the bit to send the league a reminder. All that matters on Sundays is whether or not you win, but it goes without saying that feeding Justin Jefferson as he should be will only aid in the efforts for a victory. I'm predicting that Jefferson has a big day to open the year, going for over 100 yards and at least one touchdown.
